Programmes and projects

  1. TRIANGLE in ASEAN – Myanmar

    The ILO TRIANGLE in ASEAN is a partnership between the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). TRIANGLE in ASEAN delivers technical assistance and support with the overall goal of maximizing the contribution of labour migration to equitable, inclusive and stable growth in ASEAN.

  2. ILO/China Partnership Programme on Strengthening Skills Development in Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic and Myanmar through South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC)

    This project aims to improve employability of workers and increase productivity of enterprises through better quality of employment services, skills development and institutional capacity building.

  3. Safe and Fair: Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region

    The project is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the European Union and United Nations. Safe and Fair is implemented through a partnership between the ILO and UN Women, in collaboration with UNODC, with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region.

  4. Asia Regional Child Labour Programme (Myanmar)

    The Asia Regional Child Labour Programme (ARC) aims to reduce vulnerability to child labour and enhance protection of children from exploitation in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Pakistan to contribute to the eradication of child labour, particularly its worst forms.

  6. Social Protection and Public Financial Management (SP&PFM) project in Myanmar

    The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the urgency of developing more resilient and adaptable social protection systems. In response to the health emergency, unemployment, and increasing poverty caused by the pandemic, countries around the globe are working to scale up and strengthen further their systems.

  7. Occupational safety and health in Myanmar Global Supply Chains – A Vision Zero Fund Project - Phase II

    The Vision Zero Fund (VZF) Myanmar project strives to realize the goal of zero work-related fatalities and severe injuries and diseases, by improving occupational safety and health practices and conditions in the garment and ginger supply chains.

    Through this programme, the ILO aims to establish a comprehensive, inclusive and efficient multi-stakeholder response to reducing child labor in Myanmar.

    This project focuses on the promotion of labour rights and compliance with International Labour Standards ratified by Myanmar

  10. Promotion of Decent Employment and Entrepreneurship for Young and Women Coffee Farmers through Environmentally Sustainable Productions of Specialty and Organic Coffee

    This project focuses on promoting decent work and improving the living and working conditions for small producers of organic forest coffee in small pilot area of Shan State.
