Consultation Meeting on the Findings of the Scoping/Assessment Exercise Conducted on the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Roadmap on the Free Flow of Skilled Labour: Towards a Mutual Recognition of Skills in ASEAN

This meeting will discuss the findings of the ILO scoping study that took stock of the developments on the ASEAN Economic Community goals of the free flow of skilled labour in the ASEAN Member States and will develop a collective Action Plan to pursue the Mutual Recognition of Skills in ASEAN. It will be attended by government representatives from ASEAN Member States and representatives from the regional workers’ and employers’ organization.

Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of the National League for Democracy and Member of Parliament in Myanmar, will address the International Labour Conference at the Palais des Nations and visit the ILO in Geneva.

The 3rd Mekong Youth Forum on Human Trafficking and Migration (MYF3)

This regional event hosted by the Government of Thailand and co-organised by the ILO (TRIANGLE project), World Vision, Save the Children UK, and UNIAP brings together five young people from each of the six Mekong countries to discuss their experiences of migration and human trafficking.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) adopted a series of wide-ranging Conclusions in which governments, and representatives of workers' and employers' organizations urged the ILO to "vigorously pursue" its opportunities to make an "essential contribution" to the economic and social development of Asia.
