Seminar on Development of National Employment Policy for Structural Transformation & Environmental Sustainability

The purpose of the seminar is to help constituents and other state administration bodies understand the requirements for the development and implementation of a high-quality gender-responsive policy based on relevant information and analysis for review and adoption by the respective key authorities.

The seminar will provide practical guidance for the formulation of employment policy framework structured by the current conditions related to COVID-19 crisis and national priorities.

The seminar will focus on measures to help Tonga in their efforts to respond to the COVID-19 crisis towards job-rich recovery. Given the heightened level of uncertainty over the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, the seminar is designed to offer a roadmap to follow for developing a coherent and adaptive national employment policy through national ownership and policy dialogue based on ILO employment policy-making recommendations.
