ILO SKILLS response to COVID-19
Working on addressing the specific challenges faced by countries, workers, enterprises and education and training institutions by facilitating distance learning solutions and encouraging skills development within the context of the current crisis.
The current COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting our everyday way of living. Besides being a global health crisis, it is also a major social and economic crisis, and in relation to our work and education, it is affecting the way we work and learn in an unprecedented manner. In a matter of weeks, coronavirus has changed the world of work and the sphere of learning and development. It has challenged individuals, employers and workers to adapt to online modalities in all spheres of life.
What is urgently needed are responses to address the crisis and its impact. In this context, the Skills Branch is supporting countries in their efforts to mitigate the immediate impact OF COVID-19 in the delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), apprenticeships and skills development.
