Webinar on "best practices around social protection coverage for workers in the Cultural and Creative Sector: the case of France" - 21st June 2021
As part of ILO support to the Egyptian government efforts to extend social protection to informal workers in Egypt amid the outbreak of COVID-19, the ILO organised a webinar on “best practices around social protection coverage for workers in the Cultural and Creative Sector: the case of France” with UNEDIC, a French social security institution managing this social protection scheme, and in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Egypt. During the webinar, UNEDIC presented the French system to extend social benefits, especially unemployment benefits, to the artists and workers in the creative sector and Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt presented the steps that was taken by the government to protect the workers in this sector after COVID-19.
