Driving for change: Training Toolkit on HIV/AIDS for the road transport sector

Instructional material | 05 July 2011
Road transport workers are at particular risk of HIV infection because of the nature and conditions of their work. The ILO, jointly with the IRU Academy and International Transport Workers’ Federation developed and published in March 2008 a toolkit for training road transport workers and operators on HIV/AIDS prevention, including change in behaviour, counselling and testing, care and support. This toolkit was validated in 2007 tripartite workshops in Uganda and Russia. The toolkit is based on the ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and the world of work and on a set of guidelines for the transport sector.
