Employers' organizations represent a key asset in any society: its enterprises. Successful enterprises are at the heart of any strategy to create employment and improve living standards. Employers' organizations help to create the conditions for enterprise success by influencing the environment in which they do business and by providing services that improve their individual performance.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities - 3 December 2011
The ILO Global Business and
Disability Network has launched its web site on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities,
3 December 2011. On the platform, visitors can learn about the Network and its members and access key disability resources.
The new Network video, which can be viewed on this homepage, is a quick way to learn about the Network. It includes interviews
of members and examples of people with disabilities at work.
The new website helps companies and employers´ organizations in four ways: sharing knowledge and identifying good practices;
developing products and services that facilitate hiring and retention of disabled people; strengthening technical expertise on
disability issues, and linking members to ILO activities and partners at the national level and through their local offices and
supply chains. The website was jointly set up by the ILO Disability Team in the Skills and Employability Department (EMP/SKILLS)
in cooperation with Bureau for Employers´ Activities (ACT/EMP). Network members include nearly 60 multinational enterprises
