Territorial Tripartite Social Partnership Commission To Be Established in Imereti Region, Georgia

Strategic Planning Meeting for the Territorial Tripartite Social Partnership Commission (TTSPC) in Imereti Region was held on 11 October 2022 at Imereti Governor’s office in Kutaisi, Georgia.

First Deputy of Administration of the State Representative in Imereti Region, Levan Sanikidze, Mayor of Kutasi, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, representatives of the Georgian Employers’ Association and the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation discussed the creation of a territorial tripartite social partnership commission in Imereti region.

After the amendments to the Labour Code of Georgia entered into force in 2013, the tripartite social partnership commission was established in the country. Creation of sectoral, territorial, industrial and other organizational levels partnership is also envisaged by the law.

ILO Project Chief Technical Advisor, Cătălin Ţacu, took part in the meeting. In his presentation, he emphasized the importance and advantages of social dialogue and tripartite cooperation both at the national and regional levels.

The participants discussed the next steps to be taken and formulated territorial priorities in the labour sphere. All three parties expressed their readiness and commitment to creation of the TTSPC.

The meeting was supported by the ILO-Danida Project “Inclusive Labour Market for Job Creation in Georgia”. The project is implemented with financial support of the Government of Denmark.
