The ILO operates a wide range of programmes and projects in Indonesia and Timor-Leste focusing on employment promotion, stopping the exploitation at work and social dialogue. The overall purpose of this technical cooperation is to support implementation of the Decent Work agenda in both countries.

The Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) was launched in 2013 as a response to the call at Rio+20 to support countries to embark on greener and more inclusive growth pathway. ILO’s activities within PAGE focus on Green Jobs and ensuring Just Transitions that manage workplace changes as a result of the impacts of climate change.

Better Work Programme in Indonesia - Stage IV

Safe and Fair: Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region

The project is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the European Union and United Nations. Safe and Fair is implemented through a partnership between the ILO and UN Women, in collaboration with UNODC, with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region.

Advancing Workers’ Rights in Indonesia and Malaysia’s Palm Oil Sector

In Indonesia, the project aims to ensure that Indonesian unions in the palm oil supply chain effectively advocate their members’ on fundamental workers’ rights, while in Malaysia aims to contribute to the elimination of child labour and forced labour in oil palm plantations.
