2021 World Day Against Child Labour - Act Now: End Child Labour
On 18th June 2021 an array of stakeholders from Pakistan gathered to commemorate World Day Against Child Labour and the UN General Assembly’s International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour.
Led by the ILO, the UN in Pakistan showcased past, present and future efforts aimed at eliminating child labour as part of the #EndChildLabour2021 campaign as well as efforts aimed at reaching SDG Target 8.7. i.e. Take immediate and effective measures to end child labour in all its forms by 2025. Speakers were drawn from The Government i.e. Ministry of Overseas Pakistani’s and HRD and Ministry of Human Rights, Employers and Workers Organizations, Civil Society and the UN. The event also drew voices from celebrities rallying against child labour and showcased the award winning song from Pakistan under the banner of Music Against Child Labour.
