Health and Well-being in Emergencies

The event will include a testimonial from a Red Cross Red Crescent Health Volunteer about their experiences in the field, a high level panel discussion and a general discussion. The event will take place from 18:00 to 19:30 and English-French interpretation will be made available.

This side event on health and wellbeing in emergencies will focus on three important aspects: (i) safety and health of health care workers, (ii) reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, and (iii) mental health and psychosocial support in humanitarian emergencies. All three topics have health, social, and economic consequences, and the ‘cost of inaction’ can have a considerable impact on reconstruction and development.
