Geneva Peace Week 2019

Trade, Jobs and Peace

The event is organized in the context of the Geneva Peace Week 2019, which will take place from 4 to 8 November, in collaboration with WTO and Accessions - Trade for peace.

The ILO and the WTO have partnered in exploring trade and employment from the angle of peace. It is well known that trade is essential for a country’s development. However, it is not fully known that trade can be strategized for (re-)building a nation, which in turn would also create jobs, particularly in fragile and conflict situations.

With the aim to reflect on ways of making trade beneficial in establishing peace and creating jobs, t
he ILO in collaboration with the WTO and Accessions - Trade for peace will hold an event on “Trade, Jobs and Peace” in the context of the Geneva Peace Week 2019. The event, which will take the form of a panel discussion, will take place on Friday, 8 November from 11:15 to 12:30.
