ILO and Pôle emploi sign Memorandum of Understanding

With this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the International Labour Organization and Pôle emploi, the French Public Employment Service, have committed to strengthen and develop existing forms of collaboration, and to explore new ones in areas of common interest.

In a commitment to continue collaboration, and foster cooperation between the two institutions, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Pôle emploi, the French Public Employment Service signed an MoU on April 13. 

The MoU was signed after two days of discussion at the French capital. Mr. Sangheon Lee,Director of the Employment Policy, Job Creation and Livelihoods Department of the ILO and Mr. Paul Bazin, Deputy Director General of Pôle emploi, in charge of service offer, agreed to commit the two institutions to intensify their relations over the next four years.     

The discussions focused on how the partnership can support young job seekers, bring in innovative approaches in public employment services and how international cooperation can usher in a new era of employment services matching job seekers with the right jobs.




Present at the signing, Ms Anousheh Karvar, French Government Delegate to the ILO, underlined the unprecedented nature of this agreement, as well as the importance of this partnership to support the modernization of Public Employment Services in the countries facing difficulty and multiple crises.

The roadmap annexed to the MoU includes concrete operational actions whose implementation has already begun.
