  1. Learning Forum on Innovations in Public Investment and Employment Programmes

    24 September - 5 October 2018

    The Forum will focus on both policy and operational measures for enhancing the effectiveness of public investment in infrastructure and public employment programmes to support sustainable job creation and long-term development. The Forum is jointly organized by the ILO's International Training Centre (ITCILO) and the Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP).

  2. Green Public Employment Programmes and the Future of Work: PEPs as a transformative vehicle for economic, social and environmental benefits for a Just Transition

    13 - 15 April 2018

    The course will focus on current policy debates arising from climate change adaptation and the implementation of a just transition for all through such labour based public employment programmes. It is presented by UCT’s Graduate School of Development Policy and Practice (GSDPP) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization’s Employment Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP).

    The main goal of the training was to strengthen the capacity for the implementation of an OSH management approach in the rural roads construction.

  4. 17th ILO Regional Seminar for Labour-Based Practitioners

    13 - 17 November 2017

    The theme of this edition is: "Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The Employment–intensive Investment Approach". Participants will discuss the role and contribution of employment-intensive approaches in achieving the SDG outcomes mainly focussing on building national capacities for employment creation, expanding employment-based social protection floor and conserving the environment - including addressing climate change and its adverse effects.

  5. Academy on Green Jobs Promotion in the MENA Region

    29 October - 2 November 2017

    This one-week capacity-building event aims to discuss how the potential for green jobs in the MENA region could be realised. The overall purpose is to contribute to enhancing institutional capacities for transformative change towards greener and more inclusive economies.

  6. Learning exchange programme: Social cost-benefit analysis of the Youth Guarantee

    The workshop took place in Turin from 12 to 13 July 2017. It gathered managers of the Youth Guarantee teams of Latvia, Portugal and Spain to discuss the main elements to be taken into account while conducting a social cost-benefit analysis (SCBA).
