ILO COOP/SSE presents on “Decent Work and the Social and Solidarity Economy” pre-conference event of the Japan Society for International Development (JASID)

The Japan Society for International Development (JASID), SSE Research Group Solidaridad Japan, and ILO Office for Japan will hold an event on "Decent Work and the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE)" on December 2, 2022 between 18.00 and 19.30 prior to the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) 33rd national conference.

ILO COOP Manager Simel Esim will speak at the event on the recent developments at the International Labour Organization including the adoption of a resolution on decent work and the SSE at the 110th session of the International Labour Conference and the subsequent endorsement of a seven-year office-wide strategy and action plan (2023-29) on decent work and the SSE by the 346th Governing Body of the ILO.

Ms. Yukari Nishino, Director of Wor-Q, Japanese Trade Union Confederation, will introduce the new initiatives of the Japanese Trade Union Confederation, related to the SSE. In the Q & A session, the discussion points will include the impact of the recently enacted Law on Associated Labor Cooperatives in Japan, efforts to revitalize communities facing declining population and ageing, and the potential of the SSE model for international development.
