ILO to release new report on violence and harassment in the world of work

The International Labour Organization will publish a new report on violence and harassment at work, on Monday 5 December 2022.

GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) will publish a new report on violence and harassment at work, on Monday 5 December 2022.

The People’s Experiences of Violence and Harassment at Work: A first global account, is a joint analysis, the first of its kind, by the ILO, the Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) and the global analytics and advice company, Gallup.

The report aims to provide a sense of the magnitude of violence and harassment at work, including its different forms and the factors that may prevent people from reporting or talking about it.

The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until Monday 5 December at 16:00 CET (15:00 GMT).

For UNOG-accredited correspondents, an embargoed virtual press briefing will take place on Monday 5 December from 14:00 CET (13:00 GMT).

The findings will be presented at the briefing by Manuela Tomei, Assistant Director-General for Governance, Rights and Dialogue, and Sarah Cumbers, Director of Evidence and Insight at Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF). Representatives from Gallup will also be available to answer questions on methodology.

Login details will be sent to journalists ahead of the briefing. Recognized regional journalists will be able to follow the virtual briefing via YouTube. The link will be sent in advance.

Embargoed copies of the report and the press release can be made available to recognized media on request.

Audio of the briefing will be available to the UNOG press corps and registered journalists after the press conference.
