ILO to issue new study on skills mismatch in Europe

GENEVA –The International Labour Organization (ILO) will launch a short study titled “Skills mismatch in Europe” on October 29.

The new publication looks at the situation of European workers over-or under-qualified for their job. It also analyses the scale of skills mismatches between workers’ competences and what is required by their job.

The study as well as all related communications documents are strictly embargoed until Wednesday, 29 October at 11:00 GMT (12 noon Geneva time).

For UN-based journalists in Geneva: a press briefing under embargo with the main author of the study, ILO senior economist Theo Sparreboom ,will be held on Wednesday, 29 October at 10:00 a.m. Geneva time in Press Room 1.
