  1. Enabling Environment Assessments for Sustainable Enterprises (EESE)

    Advisory services on how to assess the business environment, as well as to formulate, implement and monitor changes contributing to an enabling environment, including a specific product line for enterprise formalization.

  2. ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (ILO MNE Declaration)

    Advisory services on policies to support governments on the design and implementation of public policies.

  3. SCI
    Systems Change Initiative for productive employment

    The Systems Change Initiative (SCI) is one of four cross-cutting pillars in the Sida-ILO Partnership (2022–25). The SCI builds on and applies a market systems development (MSD) approach to create decent work and productive employment opportunities for the working poor.

  4. Value Chain Development (VCD)

    Interventions improving the functioning of entire markets or sectors that have the highest potential to create more and better jobs. 

  5. Approach to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) for Refugees and Host Communities

    Capacity-building and assessment services to develop and support Approaches to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) for refugees and host communities.

  6. Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work

    Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work Programme addresses the root causes of low productivity across policy, sector and enterprise levels for win-win solutions that improve decent work and that ensure, through social dialogue and workplace cooperation, that gains are distributed equitably.

Capacity Building Services

  1. Know About Business

    A joint entrepreneurship education programme. The modules, content, exercise and activities aim at helping young women and men in formal education (mostly technical and vocational education and training and secondary schools) better understand the world of business and open their eyes to entrepreneurship as a career option in the future.

  2. Making Microfinance Work (MMW)

    A management training programme for strengthening microfinance managers’ ability to increase the quality and scale of institution’s outreach. It is delivered through a network of International Training Centre certified trainers.

  3. Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)

    A set of training packages for different groups ranging from a first orientation for potential start-ups to in-depth training for existing enterprises, including a green enterprise development tool adapted from SIYB.

Enterprise-Level Services

  1. ILO Helpdesk for Business on international labour standards

    The one-stop shop for company managers and workers on how to better align business operations with international labour standards and build good industrial relations.

  2. Managing your agricultural cooperative – My.COOP

    A training package and programme on the management of agricultural cooperatives. It addresses managerial challenges that many agricultural cooperatives face and is based on the idea that proper management enables cooperatives to offer high-quality, efficient and effective services.

  3. Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE)

    Training and in-factory counseling to improve productivity and working conditions in medium-sized companies from emerging markets in global and local supply chains. It covers issues such as workplace cooperation, quality management and occupational safety and health.

  4. Women’s Entrepreneurship Development (WED)

    Training and support services for women who wish to start and run their businesses, with a gender perspective that contributes to their empowerment. WED is a programme with components relevant to each level beyond the enterprise level.
