National Employment Policy, 2008. - Adopción: 2008 | TZA-2008-M-94064 Based on the National Development Vision 2025, the goal of the National Employment Policy is to achieve full and productive employment for all Tanzanians. The aim of this National Employment Policy is therefore to stimulate an adequate employment growth in our economy, in order to reduce Unemployment and Underemployment rates and eventually attain full, productive, and decent employment for all Tanzanians.
The overall vision of this National employment Policy is to have society engaged in decent gainful employment capable of generating adequate income to sustain it, and reduce poverty as envisaged by the Tanzania Development Vision 2025, the National Strategy for Growth and the Reduction of Poverty (MKUKUTA), as well as facing the challenges of labour Market gaps in the globalized economy.
The Specific Objectives of the National Employment Policy are:
1. Enhance skills and competencies for those in the formal and informal sector especially rural areas;
2. Promote the goal of decent and productive employment as a national priority and enable all participants in the labour force to gain productive and full employment;
3. Promote equal access to employment opportunities and resources endowments for marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, youth and People with Disabilities (PWDs);
4. Put in place conducive and enabling environment to promote growth of the private sector and transformation of the informal sector into formal;
5. Ensure income security and social inclusion;
6. Safeguard the basic rights and interests of workers in accordance with International Labour Standards; and
7. Foster faster economic growth and adequate allocation of investment resources to employment potential sectors such as agriculture, non- farm activities in rural areas, manufacturing and agro-processing industries, and infrastructure and social services sectors.

National Policy on Disability, 2004. - Adopción: 2004-07 | TZA-2004-M-94120 The Policy was drafted by the Ministry of Labour, Youth Development and Sports. It sets out the objectives of the policy which are:
- Encourage the development of people with disabilities.
- Empower families of people with disabilities.
- Review/amend legislations that are not disability friendly
- Improve service delivery.
- To allow the participation of people with disabilities in decision making and implementation of important activities in the society.
- To enable families of people with disabilities and the society at large to participate in decisions and implementation of important disability friendly activities.

National Employment Promotion Service Act, 1999 (No. 9 of 1999). - Adopción: 1999-06-02 | TZA-1999-L-54432 Establishes a National Employment Promotion Service which shall provide job placement, vocational guidance, and active labour market intervention. Also establishes a National Employment Advisory Committee which shall provide advice on the formulation of employment policies, legislation on human resources, and matters regarding the employment of persons with disabilities and persons engaged in the informal sector. Part V governs the registration of private employment agencies. Part VI concerns the employment of foreigners. Empowers the Minister responsible for labour to designate certain classes of employment as classes in which foreigners may not be employed, and requires all foreigners who are employed to possess a valid work permit.

Contracts of Apprenticeship and Indentured Learnership (In-Plant Training) Regulations 1987. Government Notice No. 822. Adopción: 1987-10-19 | TZA-1987-R-4777 These Regulations, issued under the Vocational Training Act 1974 (No. 28), provide that no employer may employ an apprentice or an indentured learner without being registered (s. 4). They set forth definitions (s. 2) and the scope of application (s. 3). A contract, following a prescribed form, shall be entered into by every employer and apprentice or indentured learner (s. 5 and attached schedules of model forms setting forth the obligations of both parties). The Regulations also govern the determination of wages and working conditions, the duration of apprenticeship and indentured learnership, placement, training programmes, supervision and control (including a model inspection form in a schedule), recordkeeping, tools, testing, certification and, inter alia, responsibility of the apprentice or indentured learner.

Government Notice No. 464: Disabled Persons (Employment) Regulations 1985. Adopción: 1985-12-12 | TZA-1985-R-2324 Defines the eligibility and registration requirements for disabled persons under the Disabled Persons Employment Act 1982 (No. 2 of 1982). Reserves for them two percent of the vacancies in vocational training centres (s. 8 (2)) and requires every registered employer to employ registered disabled persons so as to constitute at least two percent of the employees (s. 10(1)). Includes schedules showing the towns and districts to which the Regulation applies and the registration forms to be used.

Government Notice No. 465: Disabled Persons (Care and Maintenance) Regulations 1983. Adopción: 1985-12-12 | TZA-1985-R-2325 Sets up registration procedures for disabled persons under the Disabled Persons (Care and Maintenance Act 1982, No. 3) and defines minimum standards in regard to the maintenance of settlements for them.
