Penal Code Amendment Law (Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Law No 10 of 2019). (ရာဇသတ်ကြီးကို ပြင်ဆင်သည့်ဥပဒေ) - Adoption: 2019-03-26 | MMR-2019-L-108181 Amends the Penal Code, sections 15 (definition of imprisonment for life) and section 376 (penalty for rape). Rape of a woman over the age of 12 years old is punishable by a prison term of up to 20 years. For conjugal rape, the term of imprisonment is for a maximum of up to two years. For rape of a girl child under the age of 12 years old, the maximum term is life imprisonment.

The Law Amending the Suppression of Prostitution Act, 1949
(Law No. 7/98). - Adoption: 1998-04-06 | MMR-1998-L-72889 Amends the principal Act concerning the definition of "brothel" and increses the penalty contained in sections 5 and eight from a maximum of three to a maximum of five years imprisonment and they may also be liable to a fine.
