The Refugee Act 1983 (Act No. 18 of 1983). -

Provides for the recognition, treatment, procedures for application of refugee status, provisions concerning family measures. Also establishes the Interministerial Committee for the Determination of Refugee as well as the Refugee Advisory Board.
