Juvenile Welfare Support Act (Act No. 7164). -

The purpose of this Act is to provide for matters concerning the promotion of juvenile welfare pursuant to Article 49 (4) of the Framework Act on Juveniles. Provides that no juvenile is to be discriminated against on the grounds of race, religion, gender, age, educational background, physical conditions, etc. in the application of the provisions of this Act (Article 3(1)). Also provides for other rights including freedom of expression and access to information. Other provisions concern the right to health and support as well as education. The final chapter concerns penalties for violations of the provisions in the Act.

Juvenile Activity Promotion Act (Act No. 7163). -

The purpose of this Act is to prescribe matters necessary to actively promote various youth activities as prescribed in Article 47 (2) of the Framework Act on Juveniles. For this purpose, the Act establishes the Korea Youth Work Agency, sets out its goals, functions and responsibilities. Also provides for youth training facilities.

The purpose of this Act is to prescribe the rights and responsibilities of juveniles and the responsibilities of families, the society, the State and local governments for juveniles, and to formulate the fundamental matters concerning the policy of nurturing juveniles.

Juvenile Protection Act (Act No. 5297). -

The purpose of this Act is to regulate the distribution of harmful media materials and drugs, etc. among juveniles and their access to harmful entertainment establishments, and protect and rescue them from the injurious environment including harmful acts such as the abuse of and violence against them in order to help juveniles grow into the persons of sound character. Article 2(5) and 24 contain a list of activities or businesses prohibited to young persons.
