Law Establishing the Iranian Fisheries Organization. -

Defines main responsibilities of the Iranian Fisheries Organization which are the conservation and protection of aquatic resources.
Under this Law the Iranian Fisheries Company and its affiliated companies are dissolved and powers, obligations, assets and human resources functions of the company are transferred to the Iranian Fisheries Organization attached to the Ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture.
Note 8-Special provisions related to administration, financial and employment regulations are at the discretion of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Law of Protection and Exploitation of Fisheries Resources of the Islamic Republic of Iran. -

Sets up legal framework for fisheries and aquaculture activities in Iran. Under Article 3 of the Law, central role in fisheries management and aquaculture activities is assigned to the Iranian Fisheries Company. Article 10, inter alia, prohibits industrial vessels to fish in the coastal waters in order to protect coastal fishermen.

Regulations relative to artisanal fishing in the Persian Gulf. -

These Regulations provide for fishing by artisanal fishermen by using traditional fishing gears within a 12 mile limit of the territorial waters and specified areas for trap laying areas (regs. 3.1. and 3.2). Certain methods of fishing are prohibited in specified areas (regs. 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5). Regulation 3.6 provides for fishing by traditional bottom trawlers, provisions of regulation 7 provide for the non-interference of commercial fishing with artisanal fishing. (7 regulations)

Regulations relative to fishing in the Oman Sea. -

These Regulations are divided into 3 Chapters: Industrial fishing activities in the Oman Sea (1); Catching shrimp by the industrial fishing sector in the Oman Sea (2); Catching fish and shrimp by the traditional sector in the Oman Sea. Provisions specify maximum limits of admitted tonnage for bottom trawlers (reg. 1.1), mesh size of trawl wings, cod and apron (regs. 1.3, and 3.2 and 3.3) and areas in which fishing is allowed (regs. 1.4, 1.5 and 3.1).

Regulations relative to shrimp catching by the industrial fishing sector in the Persian Gulf. -

Regulation 2.1 prescribes that the overall number of bottom trawlers for shrimp catching should be "stabilized at the present level". In regulation 2.2 the season for shrimp catching is specified. Industrial fishing vessels are allowed to fish with standard nets beyond a six miles zone from the coastline (reg. 2.3). In regulation 2.4 mesh size of trawl wings, cod and apron are specified (4 regulations)
