    Provides unemployment benefit for persons who lose their employment through no fault of thier own and who have contributed to the insurance fund for at least six months. Retired persons or persons who are totally disabled, the self-employed and the voluntarily insured, and foreigners residing in Iran are not covered by the Law. In relation to contribution period, the benefit shall be:
    6-24 months: 6 months benefit (single); 12 months (with dependents)
    25-120 months: 12 months benefit (single); 18 months (with dependents)
    121-180 months: 18 months benefit (single); 26 months (with dependents)
    181-240 months: 26 months benefit (single); 36 months (with dependents)
    more than 241 months: 36 months benefit (single); 50 months (with dependents) (maximum)

    Benefit shall be 55% of average daily wage or salary in last 90 days of employment. This amount shall be increased by 10% for each dependent, for a maximum benefit of no more than 80% of the base wage.
