Child Protection Act for Unsupervised or Ill-supervised Minors - Adoption: 2013-09-22 | IRN-2013-L-103139 This law defines terms and conditions for the persons willing to undertake guardianship over unsupervised and ill-supervised minors. Article 5 of the law provides detailed preconditions under which a woman or a couple can undertake supervision of a minor (his/her martial status, existence of a child in the family, age of one of the spouses, etc.).

It sets out rights, responsibilities and proceedings of the created entities. Working groups are required to take necessary measures to develop and implement projects for protection of children rights, to organize training and raise awareness about the issue in particular among children and their parents.

Law on Protection of Children and Adolescents. - Adoption: 2002-12-12 | Date of entry into force: 2003-01-01 | IRN-2002-L-91493 Imposes fines and punishment for any kind of physical or mental abuse and harassment, purchase, sale, illegal exploitation and employment of children and adolescents.
Applies to all persons who have not reached the age of eighteen years. Article 3 imposes imprisonment from 6 to 12 month or a fine from 10 to 20 million rials. Disciplinary measures under Article 59 of the Penal Code and Article 1179 of the Civil Code are exempt from this law. From the date of adoption of this Law all other laws that are contradictory to this Law are null.

Law on Ratification of Convention Concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour and Additional Recommendations. - Adoption: 2001-10-30 | Date of entry into force: 2001-11-14 | IRN-2001-L-91400 Requires the concerned Ministries (Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ministry of Mine and Industries, Ministry of Health and Medical Education) as well as the Employers Association prepare a list of hazardous works, under Article 3 of the Convention, to be approved by the Council of Ministers.
Provides penalties and temporary cancellation of work permit, under Article 172 of the Labour Code, for exploitation of children.
