Parental Allowances and Parental Leave Act (BGBI I.S. 2748). (Bundeselterngeld- und Elternzeitgesetz - BEEG) - Adoption: 2006-12-05 | Date of entry into force: 2007-01-01 | DEU-2006-L-77203 A worker is entitled to parental benefit if the child lives in the same household as the parent and if the parent does not have a gainful occupation or does not have a full time gainful occupation. This can be partially or totally replaced by maternity benefits.
The parents are entitled to parental leave until the child reaches the age of three. If the employer agrees, up to 12 months of that time can be postponed until the child reaches 8 years of age. Both parents can take parental leave simultaneously.
For every whole month of parental leave taken by the worker, the employer can reduce the holiday time by 1/12. He cannot dismiss the worker who has asked for parental leave or who is on parental leave, as of 8 weeks before the leave starts.

Adoption: 1987-07-12 | DEU-1987-L-3751 This Act amends the Social Code (LS 1980 - Ger. F.R. 2 (cons.)) by adding a reference in s. 23 to benefits for raising children. It also amends the Acts on pension insurance for workers and employees, respectively, by inserting a new division on this topic, and makes conforming amendments to other Acts. Basically, the new provisions set forth the conditions under which mothers, born before 1921, who withdrew from the workforce to care for a child, may receive an increase of 1.125 per cent in their regular pensions.

De plus, les taux et les montants des allocations ont été réajustés.
