Existing Laws Alterations Order, 1981 (No. 46). Adoption: 1981-11-01 | ATG-1981-L-59361 Provides that, in all existing laws, references to the Governor are to be construed as references to the Governor-General. Also regulates power of Governor-General to make subsidiary legislation. Finally, makes miscellaneous amendments to a number of acts, including the Labour Code.

The Antigua and Barbuda Constitution Order 1981. - Adoption: 1981-07-31 | Date of entry into force: 1981-10-31 | ATG-1981-C-41556 Provides a constitution for Antigua and Barbuda, consisting of 10 chapters. Chapter II provides for the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, including protection from forced labour (Art. 6); protection from inhuman treatment (Art. 7); and freedom of speech (Art. 12). Articles 16 and 17 provide for the non-derogation from certain rights during a declared public emergency, which is subsequently defined in Article 20. Chapters III through VI relate to the structure of the Government. Chapter VII sets forth provisions relating to public service, including pension regulations (Art. 109, 110). The Judiciary is outlined in Chapter IX.
