Abstract/Citation: The Law on the Protection of Migrant Workers revokes the Law of 2004. The Law strengthens policies providing end-to-end protection for Indonesian workers overseas, including:

- Socio-economic and legal protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (IMW) - before, during and after recruitment;
- Provide social security systems for IMW
- Integrated services for IMW at any level of governance, from local government to central government
- Skills improvement program for IMW
- Strengthens the public agency for IMW recruitment, under the National Agency for the Protection and Placement of International Migrant Workers. Private sector roles are limited only to IMW placement, not recruitment. The measures are to promote ethical recruitment
