Career guidance and employment support service workshop

Workshops have helped promote the development of Career Guidance Counselling and Employment Support Services in technical schools and colleges

Workshops took place at the Bangladesh Institute of Glass & Ceramics, Tejgaon, Dhaka and Barisal TSC to promote the development of Career Guidance Counselling and Employment Support Services in July.  Teachers at the institutes participated to learn about ways in which to help students secure jobs upon graduation.

The Directorate of Technical Education in partnership with Canadian Government supported ILO project-Bangladesh Skills and Employment for Productivity (B-SEP) piloted a series of innovative practices at the Panchagarh Technical School and College (PTSC) earlier this year to establish a sustainable linkage between skills with employment.  The most critical element in the linkage mechanism was partnerships between training institute and employers.  Best practices from the PTSC were shared at this workshop and new ideas were generated.
