A National Workshop to discuss the ILO report “Female Employment Trends in South Asia: Case Study of Bangladesh” was held on 22 November 2012 at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Dhaka.

A National Workshop to discuss the ILO report “Female Employment Trends in South Asia: Case Study of Bangladesh” was held on 22 November 2012 at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Dhaka. The Bangladesh country study is a part of a regional project being coordinated by the ILO Decent Work Team for South Asia in New Delhi and the Regional Economic and Social Analysis Unit in Bangkok.

Mr. Tarik-ul-Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs and Mr. Mikail Shipar, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment were present as the chief and special guests respectively at the opening session. Participants included representatives of the various government agencies and departments, research organizations, academia and UN and international agencies and members of the media.
