Ministry of Labour and Employment hosts the Fourth Meeting of EIS Pilot Governance Board

On 10 May 2023, the Governance Board of the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) Pilot convened the fourth meeting with the purpose of expediting the progress of the EIS Pilot.

DHAKA (ILO News) – On May 10, 2023, the Governance Board of the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) Pilot convened the fourth meeting with the purpose of expediting the progress of the EIS Pilot. A total of 13 officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), Central Fund (CF), Department of Labour (DoL), Employers’ Associations (BEF, BGMEA, BKMEA), Workers’ Associations (UFGW, NCCWE, IBC), EIS-Pilot Special Unit participated in the meeting. Two technical experts from the ILO Geneva and another 5 Officials from ILO and GIZ attended the meeting as observers. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ehsan E Elahi, Secretary, MoLE and the chairperson of the governance board. One of the agendas of the meeting was the review of standardized principles, policies, and guidelines for effective decision-making and overall EIS Pilot management.
ILO and GIZ are providing technical support to the Government of Bangladesh, Employers and Workers organizations in implementing the employment injury scheme pilot through a project funded by Government of Netherlands and Germany.
