The competitive advantage of hiring persons with disabilities

The publication highlights to employers the benefits of hiring staff with disabilities and how to do so successfully.

The International Labor Organization, Bangladesh – Skills for Employment and Productivity (B-SEP) project, funded by the Government of Canada, has partnered with the Bangladesh Employers Federation (BEF) to facilitate the development of a Bangladesh Business and Disability Network which aims to promote disability inclusion and diversity in the workplace. BEF has been actively advocating to its members and other employers to hire persons with disabilities. BEF and ILO have therefore developed this guideline to provide clear direction and steps to the employer for promoting disability inclusion. It is designed for CEOs and human resource professionals, of government offices, NGOs and especially private companies, who are responsible for human resource development. It provides basic concepts about disability inclusion to help create a more inclusive, accepting and productive workplace based on the experiences of employers in Bangladesh and around the world.
