Promote disability-inclusive employment: "Road to Success” Phase III and Digital in Demand China Project launched
The “Road to Success” Project III funded by Standard Chartered Global Business Services Co., Ltd, member of GBDN, will support 10,000 students with disabilities to enhance their professional skills through various activities, such as job tutoring, online learning, job fairs, disability inclusion events, corporate open days, live streaming events, career experience sharing sessions, and other interactive activities as well.
The ILO Global Business and Disability Network has launched the Digital in Demand （DID）Project in five countries in recent years, and the project in China is one of the important components. Aim of the DID Project in China is to equip people with disabilities with digital skills.
Working together with the local Disabled Persons’ Federation in Guangzhou and Dalian, the DID project in China will reach 2,000 persons with disabilities and improve their digital skills in terms of big data analysis, content creation, video editing and shooting, visual designing, web programming, social media, digital marketing, etc.
During the event, Participants also discussed ways forward to promote quality employment for persons with disabilities through “government-enterprise-school-society” cooperation and order-based digital training.
The Roundtable event is co-organized by GBDN-China, the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou and Standard Chartered Global Business Services (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd, under the overall guidance of the Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation. About 50 well-known domestic and foreign enterprises, higher education institutions, and organizations of persons with disabilities joined the event.
