The report highlights policies, programmes and initiatives that have been successful in closing critical gender gaps in the garment industry.

The garment sector has offered millions of women across Asia opportunities to improve their economic and social positions. However, despite numerous interventions and investments towards improving gender equality throughout the sector in recent decades, persistent gender gaps, many of which have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, remain. This report seeks to contribute towards a shared knowledge base of “what works” in the garment sector and to identify key actions towards addressing gender gaps in the garment sector in Asia.
