National Tripartite Preparatory Workshops for the 13th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour

National tripartite preparatory workshops for the 13th AFML will be held in several ASEAN Member States to take stock on the progress of stakeholders in implementing the previous AFML recommendations and to discuss the themes of the 13th AFML.

The 13th AFML will be held on 10 and 12 November 2020, in a hybrid format (online and offline). It will be hosted by the Government of Viet Nam. In line with the theme of ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and based on the current situation of COVID-19, it will be hosted with the overall theme "Supporting Migrant Workers during the Pandemic for a Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN Community" and covers two thematic sessions:

Sub-theme 1: Impact of COVID-19 on migrant workers and responses in ASEAN
Sub-theme 2: Inclusive and responsive labour migration policy for future preparedness in ASEAN

National tripartite preparatory workshops for the 13th AFML will be held in several ASEAN Member States to take stock on the progress of stakeholders in implementing the previous AFML recommendations and to discuss the two themes of the 13th AFML. The meetings will be organized as face-to-face meetings and/or online meetings depending on COVID-19 situation in each country. They are supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO) TRIANGLE in ASEAN programme, which is a partnership between the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the ILO.

• 6-7 October 2020, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar
• 23 October 2020, Vientiane, Lao PDR
• 28 September 2020, Hanoi, Viet Nam
• 22 October 2020, Jakarta, Indonesia
• 4 November 2020, Manila, the Philippines
• 21 October 2020, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
• 3-4 November 2020, Bangkok, Thailand
