The ILO-UNDESA-Korea-NSSF scoping workshop took place on 28th February – 1st March 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The workshop was jointly led by ILO Senior Social Protection Specialist together with an expert on business processes in social security and an expert on digital transformation. Together with the management team of NSSF, the team went through a visioning exercise which resulted in the birth of the Modernisation Project which seeks to improve organisational and operational effectiveness of NSSF. The management team is very grateful to ILO/Korea Partnership Programme which co-supported the workshop and the commitment to support the execution of the Modernisation Project.

Objectives:

• Elucidating the challenges faced by NSSF
• Identifying the opportunities to improve NSSF operational efficiency
• Facilitating the NSSF management team to develop a vision and strategy to improve NSSF

Expected outputs from the workshop are:

• The clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities for NSSF to improve their operational performance
• The commitment from the NSSF management team to push forward a plan to improve their operational capabilities
• The development of a proposed plan to advance NSSF vision and goals
