The ILO-UNDESA-Korea-NSSF Modernisation Project Kick Off meeting took place on 8th – 9th April 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The meeting was led by ILO International Consultant and facilitated by ILO’s National Project Coordinator. The International Consultant briefed the NSSF senior leadership team on the findings of the scoping and assessment exercise done in February. Working collaboratively with the International Consultant, the NSSF team set out the strategic plans and the road map for the Modernisation Project. The team jointly set out 5 streams of work, Business Processes, Information Technology, Organisational Structure, Human Resource, and Policy and Change Management to achieve the vision set out by the management team. The management team is very grateful to ILO/Korea Partnership Programme for their continued support and the commitment to support the continued execution of the Modernisation Project.

Objectives:

• Validation of the challenges and opportunities faced by NSSF
• Setting of the strategy and approach to increase operational efficiency and improving accountability and management capabilities in NSSF.
• Commitment from NSSF to drive the Modernisation Project and ILO’s support to provide technical assistance

Expected outputs from the workshop are:

• The clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities for NSSF to improve their operational performance
• The commitment from the NSSF management team to push forward a plan to improve their operational capabilities
• The validation of the strategic plan and the activities of the work streams
