ASEAN training course on designing and implementing unemployment benefits linking with active labour market programmes

Sharing knowledge, experiences and lessons for the development of policies aimed at protecting and supporting the unemployed and underemployed in ASEAN and Mongolia.

Purpose:

The training aims at guiding policy makers in the design and implementation of integrated unemployment protection programmes and employment support policies. More specifically, the course explores different aspects of the design and implementation of unemployment protection schemes targeting at both informal and formal economy workers. This includes international labour standards related to unemployment protection, financial aspects, laws and regulations, options for institutional set-up and importance of social dialogue in developing such measures.

Organizer:

The ILO/Japan/ASEAN project Unemployment Insurance and Employment Services in ASEAN and the International Training Center of the ILO (ITC ILO).

Participants:

Representatives of government, social partners, the civil society, and academia, from the ten ASEAN countries and Mongolia; all involved in the planning, financing and management of social security systems, in particular measures to support the unemployed and underemployed.
