Tanzanian TVET system has achieved significant milestones, particularly in increasing the number of young women and men enrolled in post basic/general education and training. Despite this impressive trend, Tanzania TVET system is facing several challenges both at systemic and implementation/provider level. Skills development access is also a serious challenge affecting sections of the population by gender, disability status and geographic location. However, Tanzania trade activities have been growing steadily in the past 5 years with export picking up for the third year in a row.

- Training of recently established national tripartite steering committee members on linking education and training to current and future market demands
- Strengthening coordination and monitoring capacity
- Capacity building of private sector such as sector skills associations training institutions, trade organizations and related institutions
- Support for relevant institutions to develop tools that will facilitate skills assessments, skills anticipation and skills gap analysis
